Barrie Ho, the Founder and Director of the Hong Kong based architects firm BARRIE HO Architecture Interiors Ltd (BHA), is frequently described as one of the most influential architectural designers of his generation practicing today in Asia. Ho is a Fellow Member of Royal Institute of British Architects (FRIBA), a Member of the Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA), a Member of the Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) and a Member of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK).

Ho has proudly won over 180 major international design awards from Dubai, USA, UK, Shanghai, Beijing, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, the Asia Pacific and Hong Kong, such as Perspective Design Recognition Awards in 2017, 2016, 2013, 2012, 2010, 2008, 2007 & 2005, Korea Good Design Selection Awards 2013, Hong Kong Designers’ Association Awards 2013, 2011, 2009 & 2005, HKSAR Quality Building Awards 2012 & 2010, USA International Design Awards 2010 & 2008, Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards from 2003 to 2009, and Dubai Cityscape Architectural Awards 2008. Ho was also awarded Outstanding Greater China Design Awards 2006-2013, the Shanghai China’s Most Successful Design Award 2012, and the Shanghai China’s Successful Design Award from 2009-2015.

Ho is appointed by the Chief Executive of HKSAR as Member of the Building Committee, HKHA (2018- ), Member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HKHA) (2012-2018), Member of the Tender Committee, HKHA (2012-2017), Member of the Commercial Properties Committee, HKHA (2012-2015), and appointed by the HKSAR Development Bureau as Member of the Old Wan Chai Revitalisation Initiatives Special Committee of the Urban Renewal Authority(2010-2012). Also, Ho is the Founder and Chairman of the Hong Kong Architectural Design Union, Member of the Hong Kong Design Institute Advisory Board of The Hong Kong Design Institute, Vocational Training Council, Chairman of The HKDI International Architectural Design Competition, Executive Committee Members of The Association of Architectural Practices 2010-2012.

Unification is the act of becoming a single unit, whilst Diversification is the act of introducing variety. Unification of Diversification, is the attempt to sustain a balance between these two seemingly opposing extremes, searching for unified design solutions through a diverse array of contemporary architectural experiments.

Our recent publication Architecture without Adjectives strongly provokes our manifestation which encompasses a wide spectrum of project natures. Our prerogative is to accept all challenges, but addressing the intrinsic architectural problems with a holistic yet innovative design solution.
